2017 Goals: Not so common things I hope to do this year

Jan 5, 2017
Photo Jan 04, 2 59 52 AM I know what you're thinking: ANOTHER post about some random blogger's random goals for 2017? How repetitive can this get, right? Well, I mean, I hope if you're reading this you either know me already or want to get to know me better or maybe you're just nosy (that's okay too!). If I'm honest, that's often the only reason I'll read these kinds of posts when other blogger's write them because, well, all of the above.

So I racked my brain trying to figure out what it is I really hope to achieve/do/try/accomplish this year and honestly, I'm really open for anything. I'm at the point in life where I need to make a big change so I'm ready to just say yes to the first thing that sounds like an adventure. In between, I, of course, also want to make the most of every moment and enjoy the little things. Here's what I've narrowed it down to.

I'd like to get a job/internship/or volunteer type experience in Social Media. This is a field I'm so intrigued with, I need/want to learn as much as I can. Even better if I could work with Social Media AND fashion or art. I'm keeping my options open.

Keep on photo-taking. I've definitely come a long way with photography just in the last year alone, if I do say so myself. I've taught myself quite a bit of new technical skills and am always eager to learn more. I feel so proud when I learn a new trick and I definitely never go anywhere without some type of camera in hand.

Bake croissants. Now this is a bit of a random one. But I just love croissants so much, I can't believe I never tasted them sooner. I'd like to try to make them myself even though they seem a bit intimidating. I once tried to make french bread and all the effort it took (with the results being mediocre at best) made me appreciate my local Albertsons bakery that much more.

Photo Jan 04, 2 42 45 PM Visit San Francisco for the first time in 15 years. For as many times I've visited SF in my lifetime (probably a total of 4 times), you'd think that I live all the way in Canada. But nope. I have never lived more than 5 hours away from there and yet, I never, ever visit. When I was younger, no one I knew enjoyed visiting there (or the fact that you almost literally have to pay just to breathe their air, they charge for everything or is every big city like that?). And since I've been adulting, I have always been too busy to go, but this year, I hope that will change. It's funny, the last memory I have of SF was of me feeling dizzy and car sick going up and down those ridiculous hills (I normally don't get car sick).

Invest in a proper haircut. I've been hearing that it's always better to pay a little more for a haircut because the results are way worth it. I've bounced from hair stylist to hair stylist in the past 5 years, nearly always feeling less than satisfied with my haircut. I'm even starting to develop anxiety about having to get my hair cut and which salon to choose. I thought getting your hair done is supposed to be an enjoyable experience? Honestly, I'd rather go to the dentist!

So far, those are some things I really hope to focus on this year. I'll be sure to let you know if I think of anymore "goals". I'd love to hear your thoughts and encourage you to chat with me on social media. All links are below!

I feel like that this year, I'm ready for a big change but know I have a little way to go before that happens yet (Visa Stuff and all that) but I'm up for really enjoying the little things and not stressing so much!! Baking croissants sounds awesome!! I know someone who would love to visit San Francisco too...Lucy's Christmas gifts were all San Francisco related from me this year! :)
