10 things that make me uncomfortable

Aug 5, 2013

I hope you won't judge me too harshly, but these 10 things make me feel uncomfortably awkward:

- Lighting matches. I get nervous because I feel like I'll catch my fingers on fire, which makes me even more nervous and so I usually just hand the job over to someone else.

- When people stand over me while I'm sitting down. Not sure why this bugs me but it does.

- Crossing busy streets when there's no cross walk. Yes, I look both ways, but still...

- Grabbing a paper when someone hands me one or vice versa. I have such a fear of paper cuts. How can flattened trees be so dangerous?

- Leading the way while walking. This stems from when I was in a soccer team as a child and I once had to lead the way during practice and all the girls turned a different way without my knowing and when I looked back, they weren't there. They didn't even bother to tell me!

- Parallel parking. 'Nuff said.

- When someone asks me something about myself in a group of more than 4 people. Stage fright.

- Having a pizza delivered. I always forget to tip the delivery guy and I feel so bad afterwards. I'm sure the pizza industry is glad that I hardly ever request to have a pizza delivered.

- Wearing skirts/dresses without some type of shorts/or tights underneath. I feel too restricted without shorts. I tend to forget when I'm wearing a skirt so it's just safer to always wear shorts.

-Cats. I feel like they're so cranky and at any moment they're gonna scratch my face off. They're still cute, though, but what can I say, I'm a 'fraidy cat (no pun intended)

Your turn! Care to share what makes you uncomfortable? I'd love to know I'm not the only weird one!

  1. I hate crossing the street too when there's no pedestrian lanes. I feel like the cars are entitled to run over me.

  3. Haha this is a great idea! I hate crossing busy streets too but that is so true about people asking about you in a group. I hate answering questions in a group, I don't do well in large groups in general!

Puppets make me uncomfortable because I've had a giant fear of them since I was little. I don't even know why, I just do. And I wear skirts and dresses without shorts all the time, but now that you mention it, I think I would feel a lot more comfortable if I did wear shorts!

  4. Very cute post, I hate parallel parking as well (who likes it?) and I used to be a big tomboy so I know how restricting skirts can feel!

Thanks for dropping by my blog earlier and leaving that lovely comment, would you like to follow each other on GFC? Let me know on my blog :)

  5. I can relate to so many of these! Whenever I wear a skirt, I aaalways have to check about every minute if it's still in place and don't even get me started if it's a bit windy outside.. :/

I also hate introducing myself to a group of people that is bigger than four or five people. It makes me nervous that everyone's looking at me and I always feel like they might be judging me or something..

  6. Dido! I can't tell you how many Marilyn Monroe moments I've had. Wearing a dress in Bay Area winds sans shorts... not a good idea.

  7. I'm glad I'm not the only one who's a match-phobe-I just can't bring myself to do it! And don't even get me started on parallel parking, on my driving test I had to do a parallel park on a hill! God knows how I actually passed :) Looking gorgeous as always

  8. I will not light a match, I just am so nervous about it! I get uncomfortable when I know I have a presentation to make and I know any second it will be my turn to go up. My stomach is doing flips the whole time I'm waiting to go.
